A lot of people don't realise this, but water leaks are by far the biggest cause of damage to homes - in an average year they cause more damage than all fires, thefts, burglaries and vandalism combined. A burst pipe can easily release a tonne of water per hour into your home! Leak also waste 3 billion litres of water every single day in the UK alone, which is enough to fill an entire Olympic swimming pool once a minute… or provide clean drinking water to the entire population of Africa. 94% of homes have a smoke alarm, but you have about a 1 in 850,000 chance of ever suffering a house fire. You have a 54% chance of suffering major water damage in your lifetime, but less than 3% of homes have any kind of protection (probably because they don't know it exists). Hopefully, together, we're about to change that!
Our product, Sonic, uses an array of four different sensors to monitor the entire water supply of your home from a single point. It can detect any kind of leak from a burst pipe right down to teeny, tiny hidden leaks (one drip every 1-2 minutes) and if it detects a problem it can automatically shut off the water to prevent damage. You get instant alerts for leaks or unusual water patterns and you can control your water from anywhere in the world. It can predict if your pipes are going to freeze, or if there's a risk that dangerous Legionella bacteria are forming in your home. And even if you never experience a leak, it tracks your water use and can even identify different appliances and how much they each consume - so you can stay on top of your bills, save money, and help to protect the planet too.
